ECA welcomes new Local Growth Fund for Wales

The Welsh Government is launching a new Local Growth Fund in April 2026.

The three-year funding replaces money that used to come from the European Union (EU). It will deliver against the Welsh Government’s Economic Mission and the UK Government’s agenda for growth. The Welsh and UK Governments have agreed a framework which will set priorities and processes for allocating the funds, with an

Investment Plan to be developed and led by the Welsh Government.

Later this month, the Welsh Government will consult on the best way to use this funding. 

ECA (Electrical Contractors’ Association) has close relations with Welsh Government, especially in relation to low carbon energy. We will monitor developments and keep tabs on any opportunities.
